Mother's Day 2010 - Pt 1

THE Herald was overwhelmed by the entries for this year's Mother's Day competition.

Here is a selection of entries, listed under schools. Part 2 will follow in a separate instalment.

Chryston Primary School

MY mum is the best mum because she loves me, cares for me, also she's a great cook! Every day I get a hug, kiss and I never want to leave her. I wait and wait until I can see her again. It's hard to describe what my mum means to me! My mum is kind because she gives me treats.

Anna Barr, age 9.

MY mum is lovely and never moany. When I go to football she'll never forget me. She will always love me the way I am. She loves me at this moment.

Andrew Barlow, age 8.

MY mum is special for a lot of things, my mum gave birth to me. She cares for me and the rest of the family and she loves me a lot. If I'm stuck she helps me. My mum is always there for me. I love my mum, she puts up with me. My mum plays snakes and ladders with me. She pays for all my lessons. I would do anything for her.

Jade O'Hara, age 8.

MY mum is special because when I am sick she takes care of me and my sister Kathryn. My mum makes lovely dinners and if I am stuck on something she helps me. She is kind and helpful so I can just ask for anything I want within reason and I get things bought for me, but that means I do not get pocket money.

MY mum is special and I love her because she is supportive and sometimes we watch films. She sometimes get new stuff out of Asda and spends time with me and might take me to the cinema to see Alvin and the Chipmunks 2. She's so pretty my mum and we love each other.

MY mum is really cool because she listens to Owl City and listens to Black Eyed Peas and she takes care of me and she buys me clothes, toys, food and gives me treats, like going on holiday. My mum is the best mum ever.

MY mum is the best mum because she loves me and cares for me. She helps me with my homework and all the troubles at school. When I get scared I snuggle up to her, she makes me some supper and strokes my head when I go to bed. My mum is special no one will take my love away.

MY mum is special to me because she is nice to me and she is tall, she is as pretty as a flower. On Mother's Day I get her a card and she likes it. She is beautiful and she is 31 in August. Me and my brother love her from her head to toes.

MY mum is special to me, she is kind and patient. She cooks good dinners. The reason she is a good mum is that she gets it off her mum, my gran. Without my mum I would burst into tears. She is the best mum in the world. I would perhaps declare that my mum is the best mum in the world.

MY mum is nice, my mum is beautiful and interesting. She remembers my birthday, she gives me hugs.

MY mum is kind and loving. She is very understanding and she sees the good sides of things. She likes to be posh and she is always smiley. She is sometimes a little bossy. She is nice and plump with a lot of attitude. She is good natured but very moody.

MY mum hugs me day and night and she helps me with my homework. She went to hospital to have me and when I could not walk she gave me wellies and then I started walking. She's lovely and beautiful and she cares for me, she's cool, my mum's fantastic!

MY mum is special because she makes my dinner, makes my bed. She's brilliant, lovely, nice, sweet as a rose, the best, spectacular, funny, kind, lets me do what I want when I want. Takes me everywhere, sometimes after school she takes me to get ice cream.

MY mum is special because she remembers my birthday, tucks me in and gives me a kiss on the cheek. She makes the food, she cares for me and my brother. She's tall with black hair and very very pretty. My mum loves all my family and cares for them too. She knows her manners so she's very polite. My mum love me and I love my mum.

MY mum is the best mum in the world because for my birthday she always gets me the best presents ever. She also does all he work in the house for me. She is always kind and loving to my family and me. Since I was a baby she has always taken care of me. My mum feeds me well and when I make mistakes she sorts things out.

MY mum is the best mum in the world because she is always there for me and my family and she's a really kind, caring and loving person.

THINGS my mum does, takes me to the shops every Saturday and buys me clothes. She helps me tidy my room and even gives me pocket money if I don't keep it tidy. If I would like something and I can't get it she will try so hard to find it. She takes me out for dinner and lunch. She would take me to swimming lessons and have a swim too. My mum would walk to school or drive. Also takes me to dancing. She helps me with homework and cooks me dinner and makes my pack lunch. Also tells me to eat veg and fruit. She cares for others and me. If I hurt myself she would help me. She would buy me medicine if I was sick. If I had to go to the hospital or doctors she would take me. My mum deserves this so badly because she is the best mum in the whole wide world. So please please pick me. She would love something amazing this year.

I LOVE my mum and think she should win this competition because she always puts people before herself. She is kind and when she does things kind to people she wants nothing in return and she devotes me with love. She is very helpful and helps and loves me and cuddles me everyday and really deserves this, she works very hard.

MY mum, she's the best ever! When I'm sick she rubs my back. I love her so much. I think she deserves this prize for being best mum in the world! She tries her best to keep me happy, so she doesn't go out that often. That's why she should win this prize. SHE'S JUST GREAT!

ON mothers day, mothers should feel special. Mum's are fun, loving, caring, my mum cares, so do all, but although she tells me things that are wrong. I'll always love her, she's my mum. I have to say, that I hope my mum wins mothers day. Happy mothers day mum, I think you are No 1!

I LOVE my mum because she is fun, fab, always there for me. She loves me and cares for me. When I am sick she tucks me into my bed, cuddles me, and rubs my back. She never stops talking about me at work. She always puts other people first and never takes any credit for anything, that's why she is the best mum in the world.

MY mum is the best mum in the world because she has went through a lot in the past two years. She has to put up with my sister, which is hard! When I'm sick my mum looks after me (even if she's got work). I know my mum deserves this as she's very special, loving, caring and all the things a mother should be!

SEE my wonderful mum, she is so generous and loving, she has appreciated me since I was born. When I am sick she cuddles me to bits and puts me first. She just won't stop talking about me when I leave the room because she cares about me so much. I know she loves me and she always makes me happy.

I THINK my mum is the best mum because she cares for me and my sisters and every morning I wake up at breakfast and she drives me to school and I'm always on time and I thank my gran for having my mum because my mum's had me. When I come home my mum does my homework and especially my first reconciliation book. Please let my mum win because she is the best in the whole wide world.

MY mum always gives me dinner when I want it. She gave birth to me and she borne me like the son of Jesus and gets me everything I need. She looks after me very well and she is a super mum because she loves me and cares about me. If I've done something wrong my mum doesn't say that. She just wants to make me a good adult.

MY mum goes on the computer. She looks like this, her hair is blonde and her eyes are blue. She gave me a hug in bed because she is happy with me. My mum watched me playing my PS2 and I play the Xbox 360 too and my mum loves the snow outside too and my mum makes my dinner and my mum watched Doctor Who and I watched Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I watched Ice Age 3 and I got three discs in my DVD. Aidan watched Family Guy and I got Shaun the Sheep, Shape Up With Shaun.

MY mum is the best mum because she is fun. When we go to the carnival she is so funny when we go on really fast rides. I love it when she says goodnight because she loves me so much and gives me all the love I need and she makes me so happy when I come home from school and I love her and she loves me so much.

MY mum is called Kathy, she is a childminder. She looks like this, she has dark brown hair and her eyes are blue. She tells me that if I am worried to tell them. I love my mum being a childminder.

MY mum is great because every night she comes into my bed with me. Before I go to sleep my mum says, I love you and I say that back. When it's morning again I wake up for school and my mum helps me to get dressed and then my mum and me walk off. She drops me at school and after school she brings me home and when people are mean to me my mum stands up for me. She lets me watch TV sometimes when I like and gets me what I need and feeds me. My mum is great because she loves me.

MY mum is the best because she gives me good things for my birthday. My mum has had three children and she still looks after us. So my mum calls me munchkin and all kinds of lovely names and she always hugs me and she always loves me.

MY mum is the best mum ever because she takes me to the park when I want. She is super mum because she saves peoples lives and she gets me nice clothes. But sometimes she keeps it a surprise and she is a nice mum.

MY mum has burgundy hair and brown eyes. She is a nurse, but doesn't work in a hospital, she works in an office in Glasgow and visits peoples houses. She takes me out places and on one of my birthdays I didn't have a party, so she took me out with some of my friends to a play area. My mum says things like when do you want your dinner and other things, so that is why my mum is the best one EVER!

MY mum has lovely hair and brown eyes. She works at Asda. She works very hard and doesn't buy stuff for herself and she takes care of all of us even when we are bad. She wraps us up when we are cold.

MY mum is the best because she gave me a 5 note and I bought a pair of gloves. My mum is sensational, but also beautiful. She makes cakes for me, Robyn and Luke. We live in Lennoxtown. Every day my mum would walk to school and to the house. After school we would go a walk to my papa's. I love my mum, my mum is the best.

I THINK my mum is the best mum ever because she gave birth to me and she called me Kayla and then a couple of years later she had another child and it was another little girl and she called her Rhian. I was about four years old and I really wanted a little sister and I got one, I was really pleased. In 2009 on June 30th my mum had another baby, but this time it was a baby boy. I wanted a little brother this time. My mum is the best mum because she loves me and my adorable sister and brother.

MY mums mum is brilliant because she taught my mum how to bake and make cakes and all my favourite food, like pancakes and birthday cakes that are very good. She also told my mum how to teach and get very good at English and that is what she teaches. My mum hugs me, takes me to the park and puts me to bed. Although my gran is brilliant my mum is even better.
