Time to grow for it – search for prize gardens in Kirkintilloch, Bishopbriggs and beyond...
DOES your garden leave the rest green with envy?
Has your neighbour got the opposition sewn up in his backyard?
Or has your granny got a blooming wonderful display in her front garden?
The Herald’s annual garden competition is launched this week.
Once again we’ve teamed up with the experts at Caulders Garden Centre – in Kilsyth Road, Kirkintilloch – and Kirkintilloch Horticultural Society.
As in previous years, there are a host of great prizes up for grabs, with the winner scooping a £50 voucher to spend at Caulders and a top-quality garden fork.
The second place prize is a £30 voucher for Caulders and third prize is a £20 voucher.
Kirkintilloch Horticultural Society President Errol Burchell said: “I’m looking forward to receiving the entries and going to see the gardens.
“I’m also looking forward to entries from people who have not taken part in the past.
“I hope that the weather improves.”
Caulders Garden Centre owner Colin Barrie said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the competition once again.
“There are some excellent gardens in the area. It’s always great to see the photos in the Herald.”
To enter the Herald Garden Competition 2012 complete the nomination form in this week’s Herald.
Once all the entries have been received a judge will call round to look at the gardens before the final selection is made.
You can nominate your own garden, a neighbour’s, friend’s, family member’s or one that you think is particularly nice in your area.
