Who will be on the Herald's legendary list?

THE search is underway for the 50 people who have contributed most to East Dunbartonshire and North Lanarkshire.

From award-winning sportsmen and women to leading figures in the worlds of business, politics, entertainment, industry, charity, health and history . . . when it comes to people who have made a significant contribution to society the East Dunbartonshire and North Lanarkshire areas have plenty to be proud of.

This week, in recognition of our local heroes, the Herald is asking readers to nominate the person or group they feel should be included in our Top 50 list.

There's no time limit on who you can nominate for the Herald's Top 50.

From the period when the Romans built the Antonine Wall right up to the present day - the choice is yours.

Nominees must have a strong connection with the Herald's circulation area and have made a positive contribution to society either locally or further afield.

It could also be a local character or someone who is well-known in your area for the good work they do or have done over the years in the community.

It could also be someone who has inspired you by showing immense courage in the face of a serious illness or difficult circumstances.

To nominate someone, a group or an organisation for the Herald's Top 50 list you can e-mail: kirkyherald@jnscotland.co.uk

Alternatively you can write to: Herald Top 50, Herald Offices, 11 Dalrymple Court, Kirkintilloch G66 3AA.

The Herald Top 50 list will be published early in the New Year..
