TAKE a trip down memory lane with an exhibition on the history of Bishopbriggs Gala Day.

The exhibition is being organised by Jimmy Watson, from Friends of Thomas Muir, and the recently-formed Bishopbriggs Local History Group.

It will be held at the end of May at Huntershill Village and an appeal has been launched for old gala day photos and memorabilia.

The exhibition will coincide with the town’s annual gala day, which will be held on Saturday, May 25.

As part of the celebrations Bishopbriggs Community Council will be holding a reunion for former gala queens and princesses when the exhibition is opened.

Donald Macdonald, from the history group, said: “Jimmy Watson suggested the exhibition and it makes a nice wee project for the history group.

“We are looking for memorabilia, photos or even old programmes of gala days.

“We are also looking to get as many former gala queens and princesses together.”

If you have items for the exhibition contact the community council by visiting www.bishopbriggs.org.uk
