MEMBERS at a popular bowling club are looking forward to getting back on the green after ending last season on a high.

The start of the outdoor bowls season is just a few weeks to go and Bishopbriggs Bowling Club is looking for new members to repeat the success of 2012.

A spokesperson said: “Once again the club is looking forward to an enjoyable and successful season, emulating the 2012 success of various members including Graham McLean and Harry Pollock who brought great credit to the club by winning the Glasgow Bowling Association Pairs against stiff opposition from teams representing some 88 Glasgow clubs.

“As before the club will be represented in all categories of the Glasgow and Scottish Championships and we look forward to continuing the results of previous years.

“Bishopbriggs Bowling Club membership comprises gents, ladies and juniors. All sections currently have vacancies and we would welcome anyone interested in taking up the sport. The club has qualified coaches enabling us to guide players, free of charge, from beginner to advanced level.”

For more information pop into the club at 11 Kenmure Avenue, call 0141 563 4840 or email davidboaler@hotmail.co.uk.
