A TALENTED songstress from Kirkintilloch has thanked her fans for “phenomenal” support.

Katie Sutherland, who previously sang under the stage name Pearl and the Puppets, has successfully raised the cash to release her record through Pledge Music.

Her army of supporters have funded the project in exchange for exclusive goodies - including the artist’s first acoustic guitar, private performances and even the chance to take part in a songwriting session with Katie.

Now the money has been raised, Katie is getting on with the serious business of completing the album - named Canvas.

She is currently recording in Glasgow and London, has written two songs with former Busted star Charlie Simpson and has enlisted Coldplay producer Danton Supple to put the finishing touches to the record.

Katie told the Herald: “It’s a really exciting time for me. I’m over the moon.

“Allowing fans to be involved like this in the making of the album is a fantastic way to celebrate my debut. The support has been phenomenal.”

Katie will be performing at Glasgow’s Oran Mor venue on Saturday, April 8. Tickets, priced at £8, are available from www.ticketweb.co.uk
