LEARN a little more about how Kirkintilloch developed as a community and your ancestors this weekend.
That is the offer to local residents ahead of a special event this Saturday – ‘Kirkintilloch – A Sense of Place’.
Kirkintilloch & District Society of Antiquaries are urging people to enjoy the free, multi-media experience.
The afternoon is not intended as an academic conference or meeting, but as a chance to hear about the factors which influenced the development of the community and local lives at the time.
There will be illustrations, including a piece by Liam Paterson, which will include film clips of Kirkintilloch activities and people may see their ancestors (or even themselves as children).
Each session will not exceed 45 minutes and their will be an interval in the middle for tea and coffee. It is being hosted by Elizabeth Quigley.
The afternoon is free and people are invited to go along and enjoy the event. It is being held this Saturday, October 1, at 2pm in St Ninian’s High School, Kirkintilloch.
