TALENTED young singers are being urged to take to the stage to help celebrate a local milestone.
A concert is being planned for Saturday, May 14, in Milton of Campsie Village Hall, as part of the Kirkintilloch 800 Mayfest celebrations.
The event is supported by G66+Live, East Dunbartonshire Council and Milton of Campsie Village Hall Trust.
Organiser John Hinton said: “This is a unique opportunity for young performers to shine on stage, alone or with others.
“Music performed might range, as it has in the past, from a beginner performing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ to classical or pop performances.”
The concert is just one of a range of events being held in the village hall to contribute to the Kirkintilloch 800 celebrations.
The festival kicks-off on Sunday, May 8, with a lecture on the historic links between Kirkintilloch and Milton of Campsie by Kirkintilloch & District Antiquaries Society’s Don Martin.
An art exhibition, from May 13-15, will focus on original paintings of Kirkintilloch, while a specially-composed ‘Kirkintilloch 800 Suite’ will feature in the Celtic Folk Music Concert on May 14 and the Orchestral Concert on the following day.
If you would like to appear in the concert, or would like further information, call 01360 311944 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline for entries is the end of April.
