THE prestigeous Glasgow Film Theatre recently hosted the premiere of a film shot on a shoestring in and around East Dunbartonshire.

‘A Year and a Day’ follows the story of the Flills family, a well-respected Glaswegian clan who fall apart when father figure Mikey leaves suddenly without explanation.

The movie was the brainchild of retired plumber Jim Cuzen (44), from Milton, and took more than three years to complete.

Locations in the film include Cadder Cemetery, in Bishopbriggs, and Kirkintilloch’s Southbank Marina.

Jim said: “It was amazing to see the film on the big screen and everybody laughed and gasped in the right places - which is the main thing.”
