On Christmas Day, an eight-year-old boy clutches his beloved teddy bear to his chest and wishes it could talk.
Wonder of wonders, his wish comes true and his bear becomes a celebrity.
Fast forward nearly 30 years, however, and the fairytale has gone sour. There’s no Toy Story-type moral here.
John (Mark Wahlberg) is an adult with a dead end job, while Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) has a foul mouth and an eye for drink, drugs and ladies.
On the upside, John has fallen hopelessly in love with the beautiful Lori (Mila Kunis).
However, she’s laying down the law – in order for their relationship to progress, the little bear has to go...
The near-the-knuckle comedy blends CGI and live action seamlessly, but it’s not for the faint-hearted.
It is incredibly funny, but it’s also borderline offensive so beware.
On the plus side though, it features a cult star in a cameo that’s so fabulous you can’t help but smile.
