ACT quickly if you want to go ‘Doon the Watter’ again on the Forth and Clyde.

One of the highlights of the Kirkintilloch Canal Festival was a story night on board The Voyager, which went on a short cruise from Kirkintilloch Marina.

The event proved so popular that it was booked out very quickly. Now organisers have decided to run it again on Thursday, October 18.

Story Night: ‘Doon the Watter’ takes place from 7pm to 9.30pm.

People are being urged to enjoy a short cruise and embark on a journey of holiday memories during the 1950s and 60s, with a presentation by local historian Bill Black.

No such holiday would be complete without the traditional ‘Scottish Fish Tea’ and the ticket price includes your supper.

If you want you can also take along your own bottle of wine. People will be urged to tuck in from 7pm on The Voyager as it leaves the Marina.

Tickets cost £7 and booking is essential.
