Anyone can dial in for Sunday service at historic Kilsyth church

Innovations have been made to an increasingly popular Church of Scotland service from Burns and Old Parish Church in Kilsyth which is acccessed via the telephone,

The 11am service which has been accessed from as far away as South Africa has been amended to more greatly resembled the usual proceedings in this historic church.

Steps have been taken to ‘mute’ background noise and the service now includes a soloist, a reader and the reading out of intimations.

Anyone can phone in -and the service is picking up increasing number of listeners, who are lacking in the technology to ‘stream’ their Sunday worship at a point where churches are shut.

Anyone wishing to join in should call 03300 88 34 34. about five to 10 minutes before the service starts . They will then be asked to enter a PIN number of 462824 .

It is being stressed too that a midweek service - at 9.15am on Wednesdays can be accessed in exactly the same way.
