A GANG of thieves are being hunted after the theft of £15,000 worth of scaffolding from new homes in Kirkintilloch.

The theft, from a building site in Taig Road, Waterside, took place between 3.45pm on Friday, April 13 and 7.30am on Monday, April 16.

Builders CCG Scotland had just completed a new development for Link Housing Association at the location.

Police say the thieves cut through fencing to get to the scaffolding and may have used a flat bed lorry to take it away.

Constable Steven Griffiths said: “It’s a small village so hopefully someone will have seen the lorry.

“Anyone with information about the theft can contact Constable Griffiths at Kirkintilloch Police Office on 0141 532 4400.”
