JEWELLERY and rugs worth more than £20,000 have been stolen during a break-in in Bishopbriggs.
Police say the intruders forced a back window to gain entry to the property in Mailing Avenue, between 7.30pm on March 21 and midnight.
They escaped with items including jewellery and rugs worth £20,500.
In a separate incident, on the same night, £50 in cash was stolen from a house in Blackthorn Avenue, Lenzie, after a kitchen window was forced.
On March 22 a house in Balmuildy Road, Bishopbriggs, was targeted between 2.45pm and 4.55pm.
Thieves stole items worth £450 after getting in through an open window.
Meanwhile, in Kirkintilloch, crooks forced a front door to break into a property on Dromore Street between 1pm on March 21 and 9am on March 22. Goods worth £1,200 were taken.
The next day, £100 was stolen from a house in Waverley Crescent after a window was broken.
Police have warned householders to be on their guard against intruders by making sure all windows and doors are locked, even when there is somebody in the house.
They also reminded residents not leave valuable items, including handbags, wallets and car keys, in clear view.
