A GROUP of fearless 12-year-olds are set to take on a terrifying 700ft zip slide plunge to raise funds for a leading charity.
Cahil Kennedy, Ewan Davidson and Jonathan Arthur - all from Bishopbriggs - will take on the monster challenge in October to raise cash for The Anthony Nolan Trust.

The world renowned charity supports leukaemia research and recruits donors for the potentially life-saving bone marrow transplant register.

The young daredevils will be lifted more than 100ft in the air by a specially designed crane, hooked to a wire, and will then plummet 700ft to the ground.

Anne Hughes, the charity's regional fundraising manager, said: "We're confident the fundraising event will be a huge success and invite Herald readers to sign up for what is sure to be a fantastic day out."

The fundraising event takes place at the Westerwood Hotel, Cumbernauld, on Sunday, October 12, from 10am-5pm. There's a £10 entry fee and fundraisers must raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship.
