A YOB who tried to steal a woman's handbag in broad daylight is being pursued by police.
The 50-year-old woman was walking in Beaufort Gardens at around 8.10am last Friday when a man approached her from the rear.
He then attempted to snatch her handbag, but made off when the woman hung on tightly to her bag.
Police are treating the incident as assault with intent to rob.
The woman was left badly shaken, but was otherwise uninjured.
The suspect is described as white, 24-27-years-old and wearing dark clothing.
