FLATS in Kirkintilloch town centre are to get a £278,000 face-lift.
Scaffolding has been put up at the 16 properties in Townhead while the work goes ahead.

East Dunbartonshire Council hope to finish the refurbishments by the end of June.

A council spokesperson said: "The improvements to the houses at Townhead include new windows and doors, new security entry doors, new gutters and downpipes, roof repairs and new close lighting.

"Lockups at the rear of the properties and the old bin stores are being demolished and the closes and rear of the buildings are being painted.

"The car park area and bin stores will also be resurfaced."
