Flat blaze

FIREFIGHTERS battled a blaze in a first floor flat for more than three hours.
Crews from Kirkintilloch and Bishopbriggs were called to tackle the fire in Rose Street, Kirkintilloch, at 7am on Saturday.No one was injured in the blaze.

A spokesperson for Bishopbriggs Fire Station said: "The flat was well alight when crews arrived.

"Thankfully no one was injured but the flat was damaged extensively by smoke and fire."
