Billy Harris had a hair raising experience last week . . . but it was all for a good cause.
The Kirkintilloch man braved having his chest and legs waxed to raise money for charities close to his heart.

The fundraising event took place during a disco and karaoke evening in Waterside Miners Club organsied by Billy and his mum Emma.

The popular event raised a fantastic £3,200 for Marie Curie's Big Build Appeal and Yorkhill Children's Foundation.

Billy has lost his dad, grandfather, aunt and uncle to cancer, and earlier this year his nephew died of a major heart defect.

The 31-year-old said: "It was my mum's idea to hold the fundraiser and it was a great night, although I'm still a bit sore from the waxing.

"We're delighted to be able to raise so much for these great charities and there is still money to come in.

"I'd like to thank my mum, sister, brother-in-law and all at John G Russell who raised £1160 through raffles and sponsorship, as well as everyone who supported the event."

Billy is pictured being waxed by beautician Debbie Scott, alongside his daughter Caitlyn, sister Lee, mum Emma and brother-in-law Stan.
