MORE than 250 houses have been given the go-ahead near Stepps.

Crowwood Grange Estates plan to build approximately 266 properties on a 3.6 hectare plot of land to the east of the village's Dewar Road.

Around 90 of the houses will be in North Lanarkshire, with the remainder falling under the jurisdiction of Glasgow City Council.
