THOUSANDS of people flocked to Kirkintilloch last weekend for the town's ninth annual canal festival.
A huge variety of great events and entertainers created a two-day spectacular.

Some of the highlights were the centrepiece parade through the town, a stunning fireworks display, circus acts, the 'Peel in the Park' music festival and a helicopter fly-by to name just a few

Crowds also enjoyed barge trips along the Forth and Clyde Canal, police and fire vehicle demonstrations, an open air market and amazing displays by cheerleaders.

Council leader Rhondda Geekie said: "This year's event was another triumph for Kirkintilloch."
