Walkers are set for a special two-day event next month.
The fifth East Dunbartonshire walking festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday, September 13 and 14.

This year sees the festival mark its fifth anniversary with a variety of walks around the Kelvin Valley, the Campsie Fells and the Kilpat
rick Hills.

Maggie Ferguson, a senior countryside ranger with East Dunbartonshire and Mugdock Country Park ranger service, said: "Saturday's walks starting from Milton of Campsie include challenging walks up to Meikle Bin and Dungoil in the Campsies, moderate walks in the beautiful Kelvin Valley and a minibus tour with three gentle walks visiting three great viewpoints.

"On Sunday the walks start from Milngavie, where you'll have the chance to walk in the Kilpatrick and Strathblane Hills or follow the Allander and Kelvin River into Glasgow.

"The more gentle walks take you round the lovely countryside and old country estates of Mugdock and Dougalston."

She added: "All walks are led by experienced walk leaders from local ranger services and Bearsden and Milngavie and Strathkelvin Ramblers."

To book a walk or request a leaflet contact rangers@mugdock.org or phone 0141 956 6586.
