A NEW £1.46million school games hall is due to open next month in Torrance.

The new building, at Torrance Primary School, will provide pupils and the wider community with a range of sporting and recreational facilities.

As well as providing a state-of-the-art space for sports including basketball, badminton and football, the hall will be used to stage school drama productions and includes a cafeteria area.

Construction started at the beginning of the year and work is currently on schedule for a grand opening in October.

A spokesperson for East Dunbartonshire Council said: "The games hall in Torrance Primary School is on track and will be completed in October.

"As with other council facilities the hall will be available for external lets."
