A CAR was set on fire outside a motorist's home.

The owner of the white Citroen vehicle in Bencloich Crescent, Lennoxtown, rushed outside after seeing the back of the car set ablaze at around 11.15pm on Tuesday, July 20.

The owner managed to quell the flames himself without calling the fire brigade.

Earlier this year firefighters on 999 calls were pelted with bottles and rocks twice in 24 hours by a gang of around 20 in nearby Benvue Road.

Police say they are looking for potential leads on the Citroen car being set on fire. You can call 0141 532 4400.
