Teenager killed in road accident

A TEENAGER has died in a car crash near Auchinloch.
The 17-year-old boy was driving a Renault Clio when it was involved in a collision with a Chrysler Voyager at around 10.30am on Monday.

The accident happened on Stepps Road near Langmuirhead Road.
Strathclyde Police say 17-year-old Jonathan McLean, from the Stepps area, died at the scene.

A report on the circumstances will be prepared for the procurator fiscal.

A 19-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, suffered injuries and was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where she is receiving treatment.

The 38-year-old woman who was driving the Chrysler Voyager and a 44-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, were also taken to hospital where they were checked over before being discharged.
