THIS is your chance to decide who the premier pets are in East Dunbartonshire and beyond.

The Herald has teamed up with Wagtail Pet Supplies in Kirkintilloch to find our top pet for 2009.

We have been asking readers to send in their entries over the past few weeks and you haven't let us down.

There have been a plethora of picture-perfect pets and we are presenting them all on pages 14-16. We need your help to decide which pet will be crowned the Herald Pet Idol 2009.

The winner will secure the accolade of being our overall winner and £30 in vouchers for Wagtail Pet Supplies.

Two runners-up will each get £10 in vouchers for the Kirkintilloch shop.
There are three ways for you to vote for your favourite:

* Fill in the coupon in this week's paper. Each coupon is worth three votes. Votes must be received by next Wednesday, July 1, at 5pm. No photocopies will be accepted. You can vote as often as you wish.

* Telephone our special voting hotline on 0901 656 0184. You will be asked to key in the two–digit code printed under the photograph of the contestant you have chosen. Calls cost a maximum of 60p from a standard landline. The cost of calls from mobile or payphones may vary. If you vote after the closing date – 5pm on Wednesday, July 1 – your vote will not be counted but you may still be charged. Service provided by g8wave London N7.

* Text KHPET (space] and the two–digit number of the contestant of your choice to 81800. All replied messages cost 60p plus your standard network rate.
