A YOUNGSTER who was raising funds for Yorkhill Hospital ended up being rushed there just minutes later.
Little Aiden Christie had completed a sponsored ‘spin’ around Hogganfield Loch, near Stepps, on his bike.
Afterwards he was playing in the park when he fell from a climbing frame and injured his elbow.
The four-year-old was taken to Yorkhill Children’s Hospital and had an x-ray and his arm put in a sling.
Aiden’s mum, Donna, said: “We couldn’t believe it happened just after he had been raising money for Yorkhill.”
Aiden was back at the hospital last week and had a second x-ray. Mum Donna said: “The hospital staff are taking good care of him.”
Aiden was one of around 30 children who took part in the sponsored spin event on bikes, scooters and buggies.
The fundraiser was organised by Lisa France and Lynsey McKendry, both from Moodiesburn.
Lisa’s three-year-old son, Cameron, and Lynsey’s son Luke (6), have both undergone life-saving treatment at Yorkhill for bowel-related condtions.
Lisa said: “The fundraising event was very successful.
“We’re holding a Hallowe’en party in Moodiesburn later this year and hope to raise over £2,000 in total.”
