Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist suffered head injuries in a road crash.

The 31-year-old man was riding his bike in Maryhill on Tuesday, December 15 around 7.10pm when the accident happened.

Officers said as he reached the junction and continued onto Maryhill Road he was struck by a BMW 5 series being driven by a 38 year-old man.

The cyclist was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he is being treated for head injuries.

Hospital staff described his condition today (Wednesday) as stable.

Sergeant Nicola Taylor from the Road Policing Unit at Helen Street, Glasgow is asking for any witnesses to contact her on 101.
