The police are investigating after vandals stabbed several car tyres in the Westerton area of Bearsden over Christmas.
A Vauxhall Astra and Hyundai i30 had tyres punctured on Crarae Avenue, Bearsden, overnight on Christmas Day/Boxing Day.
Four cars, which belonged to four different owners, were also damaged on Henderland Road in Bearsden overnight on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day - two tyres were cut on a grey Volkswagon golf, Nissan Micra and Honda Insight and one tyre was stabbed on a Volvo S60.
The estimated cost of the damage is at least £350.
John McGarry, the owner of the VW golf on Henderland Road, said: “A neighbour knocked on my door on Christmas Day to tell me two tyres had been damaged on my car - so that was a great start to the day!
“A few more people knocked on my door to say their cars were also damaged so I realised it was quite widespread.
“We are all hoping this was a one-off, something like really drags down the area.
“My heart goes out to the people who had plans to visit relatives on Christmas day but they had to cancel them because they couldn’t use their car.
“I was lucky I didn’t have too many plans to travel.
“I got a lift to visit relatives in Paisley one day but I will need to use the train to get to work tomorrow (Wednesday).”
