TIME is running out if you want to have a say on local transport and the economy.

Two important consultations are being run by East Dunbartonshire Council, but they end on July 15.

People are being urged to comment on the draft Economic Development Strategy (EDS) and the draft Local Transport Strategy (LTS).

The aims of the LTS include setting out the council’s roads and transportation plans, co-ordinating funding and monitoring traffic demand.

Meanwhile, the EDS provides a five-year vision to help create more high-quality jobs for the area by focusing on business creation and growth, and maintaining balanced communities with enhanced infrastructure and services.

Councillor Alan Moir, convener of the development and infrastructure committee, said: “These are two very important documents which will outline the council’s priorities in terms of the local economy and transport.”

There have been drop-in sessions about the LTS over recent weeks, with the final event being held tomorrow (Thursday) from 10am-5pm in Lennoxtown Library.
