ALL the news from the pews...

ALL SAINTS PARISH CHURCH

Saturday mass will be held at 5.30pm. Mass on Sunday will take place at 10.30am and 12.15pm. Monday at 6.45pm, Novena to the Lady. Tuesday at 7pm, Union of Catholic Mothers meeting. Wednesday at 6pm, craft club for boys and girls aged seven to 12. Thursday at 7pm in the chapel house, RCIA meeting.

CAMPSIE PARISH CHURCH

Tomorrow (Thursday, December 23) and Friday, December 24, our intrepid band of carol singers will tour the village to bring musical Christmas greetings to all. All donations raised from the carol singing will be donated to charity.

The Watch Night Service on Friday (Christmas Eve) will begin at 11.30pm and tea, coffee and mince pies will be served at 11pm prior to the service.

On Christmas morning, a family service will be held at 10.30am as we celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Morning worship on Boxing Day (Sunday) will begin at 11am after which refreshments will be served in the main hall.

Worship at all services will be led by the Reverend John Spencer.

CHRYSTON UNITED FREE CHURCH

The service on Sunday is at 11.30am.

COLSTON WELLPARK CHURCH

The Christmas Eve service at 6.30pm will be conducted by the Reverend Bill Moore, as will the Boxing Day service on Sunday. There will be soup and sausage rolls after the service.

Anchor boys, primary one to three, meet on Tuesdays at 6.30pm. The Junior Boys Brigade, primary four to six, meet at 7.30pm. The company section meet on Fridays at 7.30pm and the Brownies, aged seven to 10, meet on Wednesdays at 6.30pm.

HILLHEAD PARISH CHURCH

The Watch Night Service on Friday, December 24, at 11.30pm will be conducted by the Rev. Donald Michael McInnes. Please come along from 11pm for tea and mince pies. The service on Sunday, December 26, at 11am will be conducted by the Rev.

HOLY FAMILY AND ST NINIAN'S PARISH CHURCH

A vigil mass will take place at 6.30pm on Saturday. Mass will be held at 9am, 11am and 6pm on Sunday.

IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

KENMURE PARISH CHURCH

All are welcome to Kenmure over the Christmas period, particularly if you do not normally attend church.

Our services are as follows: Pyjama Service at 6.30pm on Christmas Eve. Being introduced this year, an alternative Christmas service for all the family. Come in your pyjamas if you dare!

Watch Night Service at 11.15pm on Christmas Eve. Informal gathering for mince pies at 10.30 pm in the church hall.

Christmas communion at 9.30am on Christmas Day.

Family service at 10.30am on Christmas Day.

You are welcome to any and all of these services with the latter two being held jointly with Cadder and Springfield Cambridge in our building.

Sunday service at 11am on Boxing Day. Junior Church and creche will cater for our younger attendees. Tea and coffee are served afterwards in the church hall.

There will be no evening service this Sunday or Prayer Meeting on Thursday.

Tickets are now available to our annual Hogmanay Ceilidh (8pm-12.30am) priced 10 for adults, 5 concessions and under-5s free. They are available at any of our services or by contacting the Strongs on 563 0953. Please note it is alcohol-free and suitable for all the family. It features some live (home-grown) acts, food and ceilidh dancing in a family-friendly atmosphere. We are also running a 'Talents Auction' with the results announced on the night. LENNOXTOWN FREE CHURCH

Services will be held on Sunday at 11am and 6.30pm. The weekly prayer and Bible study meeting will take place tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm.

LENZIE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP

Our fellowship meets for worship every Sunday morning in Lenzie Scout Hall, Millersneuk Court, Lenzie, at 11am (meet 10.30am for tea/coffee).

On Friday, December 24, we are holding a Christmas Watch Night Service in Lenzie Scout Hall. The service starts at 11.15pm and ends at 12.05am. All are guaranteed a warm welcome. If you want any information please phone 0775 424 2507.

MILTON OF CAMPSIE PARISH CHURCH

Tonight (Wednesday) Time to Pray meets in the manse at 6.30pm-7.15pm. Please consider making 45 minutes to meet with others for prayer. Come early for a light snack.

On Friday, December 24, the Watch Night Service is at 11.15pm. The Christmas Day service is at 11am in the church. On Sunday, December 26, morning worship is at 11am, followed by tea and coffee in the church.

NEW BEGINNINGS

This evening (Wednesday) the prayer meeting is at 7.30pm in the Coffee House. Tea and coffee from 7pm.

The Sunday service on December 26 is at noon-1pm in the Coffee House, followed by a Christmas lunch. Tea/coffee from 11.30am. Alex Russell will be speaking at the service. Sunday school for children is also held at this time.

Carols @ the Coffee House is at 7pm on Christmas Eve. There will be tea/coffee and mince pies served.

RIVERSIDE CHURCH

Brian Brooks wraps up our family services for 2010 this Sunday by speaking on Luke 2:21-40. His theme is 'The Opinions of the Elderly'.

The prayer room opens at 11am, please come and go as you please.

Tea and coffee are served from 11.30am. Someone from our welcome team will be on hand at the door to make you welcome before the service starts at 12pm.

JBC is available for 12-16-year-olds and Sunday Club is open for five-11-year-olds.

Our prayer room will be open as normal on December 23 and 30, from 8.45am. On Thursday, December 23, we're offering a free 'grab and go' coffee and pastry to anyone in the area. Please come along from 8.30am. Full details of our activities and services are on www.riversidegospel.org

A vigil mass will be held on Saturday at 6.30pm. Mass on Sunday will be held at 10am and noon.

ST CATHERINE'S PARISH CHURCH

Sunday mass will be held at 9.30am, 11.30am and 6.30pm.

ST COLUMBA'S PARISH CHURCH

On December 24 the Candlelight Service is at 11pm – the wonder of Christmas in music, word and song.

On December 26 the Christmas Service is at 10.30am – a service for all the family.

On Tuesday, December 28, midweek morning worship is in the lounge at 10am.

'Oasis Coffee Stop', will re-open on January 6.

ST CYPRIAN'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH

Holy communion will be held tomorrow (Thursday) at 10am in the choir vestry followed by tea and coffee as usual.

On Christmas Eve the Midnight Festal Eucharist will begin at 11.30pm and the Christmas Morning Eucharist will be at 10.30am. There will be a said service of holy communion on Boxing Day at 9.15am.

ST DAVID'S MEMORIAL PARK CHURCH

On Christmas Eve – Friday, December 24 – our Watch Night Service will be celebrated in the church at 11.15pm. The theme will be taken from the popular carol 'It Came Upon the Midnight Clear'. All in the community, visitors and friends will be made warmly welcome.

The Christmas Day service, which is a nativity service to be enjoyed by young and old alike, will take place at 10.30am.

The following day, the first Sunday after Christmas, will be a service of Nine Lessons and Carols, in which many different members will be taking part. Come and relax after all the frantic rush of Christmas.

There will be no Tuesday lunchtime services during the holiday period.

ST FLANNAN'S PARISH CHURCH

A vigil mass will take place at 6pm on Saturday. On

Sunday, mass will be held at 10am and noon.

ST JAMES THE LESS

Tomorrow (Thursday) there is a 10.30am communion service in the chapel followed by fellowship over tea and coffee.

On Friday, Christmas Eve, there is a Christingle service at 4pm. This all-age family-friendly service gives

everyone time out before the business of Christmas itself. At 11.15pm there is the traditional midnight service with communion and carols by candlelight. The music will be provided by the church music group and the theme will be 'Glory to God'.

On Saturday, Christmas Day, there is an all-age communion service at 10.30am with carols. The theme for the day is 'Hope in a birth'.

On Sunday, the 9am communion service has been cancelled. The main service at 10.30am will be in the church. It will be a communion service with hymns and the theme for the day is 'Get up and go'.

ST JOHN OF THE CROSS, TWECHAR

Sunday mass is at 10am and 5pm. All welcome.

ST MACHAN'S PARISH CHURCH

A vigil mass will take place at 5.30pm on Saturday. The Sunday mass will be at 11.30am.

ST MARY'S PARISH CHURCH

The Wednesday Welcome service starts at 10.30am in the session house where tea will be served before Wednesday worship in the church. There will be no Wednesday Welcome and worship on December 29 or January 5, but it will resume on January 12, 2011.

Doors open at 11pm for the Watch Night Service on Friday, December 24. We will start with informal carol singing before the service starts at 11.15pm. It will finish at 12.15am.

Sunday service will be at 11am as usual, but there will be no Sunday school.

ST MATTHEW'S PARISH CHURCH

On Saturday there will be a vigil mass at 5.30pm. Mass will be held on Sunday at 9.30am, 11am and 12.15pm.

ST MICHAEL'S PARISH CHURCH

A vigil mass will take place at 6pm on Saturday. Mass on Sunday will be at 9am and 11am.

ST ROLLOX PARISH CHURCH

The Sunday service at 11am will be led by the Reverend James Torrens.

TORRANCE PARISH CHURCH

TWECHAR CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

The Sunday service at the Church of the Nazarene in Main Street, Twechar, is at 11am.

KIRKINTILLOCH BAPTIST CHURCH

We will hold our Christmas Eve service at 11.15pm. Our Christmas morning service will be at 10.30am and, on Boxing Day morning, again the service will be at 10.30am.There will be no evening service on Sunday, December 26.

On Sunday, January 2, we will hold our service at 10.30am and there will be no evening service that Sunday. The Coffee Lounge will be closed today (Wednesday) and will re-open on January 12, 2011, from 9.30 till 4pm. Between noon and 2pm there is an opportunity to receive prayer for yourself or for any other situation that is a concern to you.

CADDER CHURCH

Cadder Church wishes all readers a very happy Christmas. On Christmas Eve we meet at 10.45pm in the North Hall for tea and coffee and then carol singing on the way down to the church. The Watch Night Service begins at 11.30pm and takes us into Christmas Day.

On Christmas Day joint Christmas services will be held at Kenmure Church. At 9.30am Graham Finch from Cadder will conduct a service of holy communion, followed by tea and coffee in the hall, and then at 10.30am there will be a family Christmas service.

On Sunday, December 26, our normal service will be at 10.30am in Cadder.

HARESTANES BAPTIST CHURCH

The Christmas Eve service at 11.30pm will be held in Harestanes Community Centre, all welcome. The Sunday morning Service at 11am in Harestanes Community Centre will be conducted by the Rev. David Vogan.

SPRINGFIELD CAMBRIDGE CHURCH

There will be no vestry hour today (Wednesday) or next Wednesday, December 29.

There will be a short service of worship in the Cambridge Chapel today (Wednesday, December 22) from 11.10-11.30am followed by tea and coffee served in the Hall of Fellowship, but there will be no service on Wednesday, December 29.

On Christmas Eve there will be a family service at Springfield Cambridge at 6.30pm which will last for approximately 45 minutes. Later, there will be carol singing from 11pm with our Watch Night Service beginning at 11.30pm.

On Christmas Day we are welcomed to a joint service of holy communion, conducted by the Rev. Graham Finch, at Kenmure Church at 9.30am.

Following this short service there will be tea, coffee and fellowship in the church hall.

The joint family service will begin at 10.30am, also at Kenmure Church, and will last for approximately 40 minutes.

On Sunday, December 26, morning worship at Springfield Cambridge will be led by the Rev. Ian Taylor, assisted by Donald Lawrie.

After the first 15 minutes of the service, the Sunday School will continue with their activities. The Sparklers and All Stars meet in the Springfield Hall, the Junior and Senior Sunday Schools meet in the Cameron Hall, and the Bible Wayfinders meet in Room 1. The creche will be happy to look after your child in Room 2 (birth-three years) during the service. After the service, tea and coffee will be served in the Cameron Hall. Everyone is welcome.

The church will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, December 27 and 28, due to the holiday.

LENZIE UNION PARISH CHURCH

The service this Sunday is a family service at 11am. There will be a short family service at 6pm on Christmas Eve followed by the Watch Night Service at 11.15pm. The Christmas Day service will be at 11am.

Saltmine Theatre Company will be performing 'An Angel's Delight' in the new hall at 2.30pm on Saturday, January 8. Tickets are available via www.saltmine.org or by calling 01384 454807.

There will be no quiet time this Wednesday.
