ALL the news from the pews...

ALL SAINTS PARISH CHURCH

Saturday mass will be held at 5.30pm. Mass on Sunday will take place at 10.30am and 12.15pm. Monday at 6.45pm, Novena to the Lady. Tuesday at 7pm, Union of Catholic Mothers meeting. Wednesday at 6pm, craft club for boys and girls aged seven to 12. Thursday at 7pm in the chapel house, RCIA meeting.

CADDER PARISH CHURCH

This Sunday worship in church is at 10.30am. Cadder Kids are back to normal. We wish you all a happy and healthy New Year.

The Men's Club meet tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm in the South Halls when the speaker is William Collum, FIFA referee.

The Guild meets tomorrow (Thursday) at 7.30pm in the South Hall when Gordon McInally speaks on HIV/AIDS. First Monday meets next Monday at 1.30pm in the North Hall.

CAMPSIE PARISH CHURCH

Morning service on Sunday will begin at 11am. Worship will be led by the Reverend John Spencer. Creche facilities are available for babies and very young children.

Following this service there will be a time of fellowship with refreshments served in the Main Hall.

CHRYSTON UNITED FREE CHURCH

The service on Sunday is at 11.30am. This week – the Lord's Supper, led by the Reverend Peter DeVilliers.

COLSTON WELLPARK CHURCH

Anchor boys, primary one to three, meet on Tuesdays at 6.30pm. The Junior Boys Brigade, primary four to six, meet at 7.30pm. The company section meet on Fridays at 7.30pm and the Brownies, aged seven to 10, meet on Wednesdays at 6.30pm.

HARESTANES PARISH CHURCH

Sunday morning worship at 11am in Harestanes Primary School will be conducted by the Rev. Dr Stuart Blythe. The evening service at 6.30pm will be held in Harestanes Community Centre. The Boys' Brigade will meet at 7pm in Harestanes Primary School.

HILLHEAD PARISH CHURCH

The service on Sunday at 11am will be conducted by the Reverend Donald Michael McInnes. Sunday school meets at this time. Fellowship tea and coffee after the service.

Monday Club is cancelled for the foreseeable future due to flood damage. Watch this space for a restart date.

HOLY FAMILY AND ST NINIAN'S PARISH CHURCH

A vigil mass will take place at 6.30pm on Saturday. Mass will be held at 9am, 11am and 6pm on Sunday.

IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

Vigil mass will take place at 6pm on Saturday. Sunday mass will be held at 9.30am and 11.30am.

KENMURE PARISH CHURCH

All are welcome to our Sunday service which begins at 11am and will be led by the Reverend Jim Gemmell. Bible class, junior church and creche cater for our younger attendees. Tea and coffee are served afterwards in the church hall. The evening service is at 6.30pm.

On Monday at 7.30pm the Guild meet for a theme and communion night with our minister. Tomorrow (Thursday) at 7.30pm we meet for a Bible study and prayer in the Williamson Hall. Please join this important work in a suffering world.

LENNOXTOWN FREE CHURCH

Services will be held on Sunday at 11am and 6.30pm. The weekly prayer and

Bible study meeting will take place tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm.

LENZIE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP

Our fellowship meets for worship every Sunday morning in Lenzie Scout Hall, Millersneuk Court, Lenzie, G66 5JD, at 11am. Tea and coffee are served from 10.30am.

LENZIE UNION PARISH CHURCH

The service this Sunday is at 11am. Souper Sunday – after the morning service there will be a soup and bread lunch in support of the Church of Scotland HIV/Aids Project. Support will be welcomed.Saltmine Theatre Company will be performing 'An Angel's Delight' in the new hall at 2.30pm this Saturday. Tickets are available by calling 0141 572 0050.

MILTON OF CAMPSIE PARISH CHURCH

Tonight (Wednesday) Time to Pray meets in the manse at 6.30pm-7.15pm. Please consider making 45 minutes to meet with others for prayer. Come early for a light snack.

Sunday worship is at 11am. Today is 'Souper Sunday' where the service will be taken by elders and soup will be served in the hall after worship. The Tuesday coffee morning has re-opened – 10am-11.30am in the Stirling Hall, with Pause for Thought in the small hall at 11am.

NEW BEGINNINGS CHURCH

This evening (Wednesday) the prayer meeting is at 7.30pm in The Coffee House, Moodiesburn. Tea/coffee from 7pm.

Sunday service is from noon-1pm at The Coffee House in Moodiesburn. Tea/coffee from 11.30am. Sunday school for the children is also held during this time. The Coffee House is open Monday-Friday, 8.30am-4pm. If you would like to volunteer to work in The Coffee House call 01236 879842.

RIVERSIDE CHURCH

Jonathan Hannay is our guest speaker this Sunday and he will address the topic 'how can you handle temptation', based on Luke 4:1-21.

The prayer room opens at 11am. Tea and coffee are served from 11.30am. Someone from our welcome team will be on hand at the door to make you welcome before the service starts at noon.

JBC is available for 12-16-year-olds and Sunday club is open for five-11-year-olds.

SPRINGBURN PARISH CHURCH

Services on Sunday at 11am and 6.30pm will be led by the Reverend A Ford. During morning worship the Ichthus for children aged three to 15-years-old will meet.

The Crafts and Hobbies Group will hold their post-Christmas dinner on Tuesday at 6.15pm – cost 14. Next Wednesday, January 12, at 7.30pm the Bible study and prayer group meet.

The church is open each morning from 10am-noon for prayer and meditation with a short service of Bible reading and prayer at 11am. During this time the church tea room will be open for fellowship.

SPRINGFIELD CAMBRIDGE CHURCH

The Cambridge Chapel will be open Monday-Friday from 10am-noon. There will be a vestry hour today (Wednesday) and next Wednesday, January 12, from 10am-11am. There is a short service of worship in the Cambridge Chapel on Wednesday mornings from 11.10am-11.30am, followed by tea and coffee in the Hall of Fellowship.

The ecumenical Bible study group meets on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm in the Cambridge Chapel. New members welcome.

On Sunday morning worship will be led by the Reverend Ian Taylor, assisted by Donald Lawrie. After the first 15 minutes of the service, the Sunday school will continue with their activities. The Sparklers and All Stars meet in the Springfield Hall, the junior and senior Sunday schools meet in the Cameron Hall and the Bible Wayfinders meet in room one. The creche will be happy to look after your child in room two (birth to three-years-old) during the service. After the service, tea and coffee will be served in the Cameron Hall.

There will be a Fairtrade table in the Hall of Fellowship before and after the service, selling a variety of goods supplied by the Balmore Trust.

Springfield Cambridge Church will be holding a service of worship in Callieburn Court on Sunday at 2.30pm. Any members of the congregation who would like to attend are welcome.

The Guild will meet on Monday, January 10, at 7.30pm when there will be a presentation on 'the history of Stobhill Hospital'.

ST ALOYSIOUS PARISH CHURCH

Saturday mass will be held at 6pm. Sunday mass will take place at 11am and the service at Stobhill will be at 2pm.

ST BARBARA'S PARISH CHURCH

A vigil mass will be held on Saturday at 6.30pm. Mass on Sunday will be held at 10am and noon.

ST CATHERINE'S PARISH CHURCH

Sunday mass will be held at 9.30am, 11.30am and 6.30pm.

ST COLUMBA'S PARISH CHURCH

Morning worship is at 10.30am on Sunday. Sunday Club and Bible class also meet at this time. Tea and coffee will be served in the church lounge following morning worship.

Oasis Coffee Stop is on Thursdays from noon-2pm, serving light lunches. A warm welcome awaits everyone.

ST CYPRIAN'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH

On Sunday holy communion will be said at 9.15am, followed by a sung eucharist at 10.30am.

ST DAVID'S MEMORIAL PARK CHURCH

The new earlier start time is now firmly established. Morning worship on Sunday will commence at 10.30am. The Sunday schools and Bible class will start back after the holiday period and will meet in the halls after an initial time of worship in the church. All children aged three to 16 will be warmly welcomed. The tiny tots under three-years-old will be well looked after in the creche.

Everyone is invited to the cafe bar after the service for a time of meeting up over tea and coffee. A Traidcraft stall will be open for business as usual.

On Tuesday, January 11, the church will be open for a time of personal reflection and devotion from 11am with a short service held once again at noon. Morning coffee will be served afterwards in the cafe.

ST FLANNAN'S PARISH CHURCH

A vigil mass will take place at 6pm on Saturday. On Sunday, mass will be held at 10am and noon.

ST JAMES THE LESS

Tomorrow morning (Thursday) the 10.30am communion service is cancelled.

On Sunday, when we celebrate Christ's baptism, a 9am communion service will be held in the chapel while the main service at 10.30am will be in the church. It will be a communion service with hymns during which the junior church will meet in the hall and the young people in the chapel. The theme for the day is 'wise or foolish question?'. Afterwards there is tea, coffee and fellowship in the hall.

ST JOHN OF THE CROSS, TWECHAR

Sunday mass is at 10am and 5pm. All welcome.

ST MACHAN'S PARISH CHURCH

A vigil mass will take place at 5.30pm on Saturday. The Sunday mass will be at 11.30am.

ST MARY'S PARISH CHURCH

There will be no Wednesday Welcome or worship today (Wed), but this will resume next Wednesday, January 12.

Sunday service will be at 11am and Sunday school will be available to children aged three to 12 and Seekers for aged 12-plus. For children under three, creche facilities are available. Tea and coffee will be served in the large hall after the service.

Prayer Time is on Tuesday, January 11, at 7pm in the session house.

The Guild have their first meeting of the New Year on Friday, January 7, in the mid-hall at 7.30pm-9pm.

ST MATTHEW'S PARISH CHURCH

On Saturday there will be a vigil mass at 5.30pm. Mass will be held on Sunday at 9.30am, 11am and 12.15pm.

ST MICHAEL'S PARISH CHURCH

A vigil mass will take place at 6pm on Saturday. Mass on Sunday will be at 9am and 11am.

ST ROLLOX PARISH CHURCH

The Sunday service at 11am will be led by the Reverend James Torrens.

TWECHAR CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

The Sunday service at the Church of the Nazarene in Main Street, Twechar, is at 11am. Sunday school is at 12.30pm.
