A PENSIONER has been charged with driving while over the alcohol limit, without a current MOT and without road tax.

The incident is alleged to have taken place within the Auchinairn area on Monday, August 12.

A 67-year-old man has been reported to the procurator fiscal.

Meanwhile, a man has been charged with failing to have proper control of a dog in a public place in the Woodhill area of Bishopbriggs.

The 28-year-old has also been accused of acting in a threatening and abusive manner after his dog attacked another dog and caused slight injury to the owner. A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal after the incident on Tuesday, August 13.

Last week, the Herald told how a dog has been seized by police and its owner charged after a 16-year-old girl was bitten on the thigh in Kirkintilloch.

The teenage schoolgirl was bitten on the leg by a Japanese Tosa-type cross-breed dog in the Hillhead area.

Police traced the owner and removed the dog to an SPCA centre.

A 27-year-old woman from Hillhead was reported to the Procurator Fiscal for a contravention of the Dangerous Dogs Act after the incident on July 30.
