A BRAVE couple have been left badly shaken after they were assaulted in their back garden.

The 65-year-old man and 63-year-old woman were pushed to the ground as they challenged two intruders at their home in Avonspark Street, Springburn.

The woman was also kicked in the body twice.

The couple confronted the intruders around 4.40am on Sunday, December 4, after hearing banging noises coming from their garden.

It is believed the two intruders, who made off along Avonspark Street, had a hammer or a similar tool with them.

They are described as white males, aged between 23-38.

One of them had a medium build and was wearing a light fawn coloured top. The second was wearing a black baseball cap with a dark hooded top.

Chief Inspector Brian Hughes said: “We are looking for anyone with information to contact Strathclyde Police on 0141 532 2000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
