Attackers force their way into victim’s home in Kirkintilloch

Police are hunting for two men after a 20 year-old man was seriously assaulted at his Kirkintilloch home at the weekend.

The thugs forced their way into his house at Redbrae Road around 3am on Sunday.

Police said the motive for the assault was “unclear”.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and was later released.

Door-to-door enquiries have been taking place and local CCTV analysed.

A Black Nissan 4 x 4 vehicle was seen in the area at the time and officers are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen it.

Detective Sergeant David MacGregor said today: “The victim of this assault 
sustained a serious injury.

“We are keen to trace any witnesses who may have seen two men acting suspiciously in or around Redbrae Road in the early hours of Sunday.

“In particular, we are looking for information about the driver or occupants of a Black Nissan 4 x4 vehicle seen nearby at the time.”
