A TALENTED ice skater who once performed with Torvil and Dean is hoping to avoid skating on thin ice on the new series of ‘The Apprentice’.

Laura Hogg (28), from Bishopbriggs, can be seen on the hit BBC show from tonight (Wednesday).

The mother-of-one, who loves ski-ing and is a former ice skater, has her own bridal shop business.

Confident Laura said: “I am going to be one of Scotland’s next big exports.”

She says her strength is that she will go out of her way for others, however, she admits to sometimes being stubborn.

Laura – who has a four-year-old son, Reece – is inspired by Michelle Mone as a powerful working mother from Scotland who created a business empire.

Laura won a Scottish Apprentice-style competition – ‘The Hirer’ – three years ago, which saw her land a job with Fake Bake. She later left and set up her own bridal firm.

‘The Apprentice’ is on BBC One tonight (Wednesday) at 9pm.

Lord Sugar said: “This is not about a job anymore and I’m not looking for a friend, if I wanted a friend I’d get a dog.

“I’m looking for a partner, the ‘Marks’ to my ‘Spencer’, the ‘Lennon’ to my ‘McCartney’.”
