SHOCK plans have been unveiled to transform a former oil depot into a cinema, hotel, offices, healthcare facilities and a goods depot.
The move could mean a massive jobs jackpot for East Dunbartonshire . . . and would clean up an area which has been labelled an eyesore.
The fenced-off land in Westerhill Road, Bishopbriggs, has lain empty since the 1970s.
It was originally owned by BP, before later becoming a Shell-Mex petrol distribution centre.
Now Westerhill Developments have notified East Dunbartonshire Council of a prospective scheme to build leisure, community and business facilities on the brownfield site.
The pre-application notice includes plans for a hotel, a cinema, offices, health care facilities and a goods depot.
It is expected that Westerhill Developments will now carry out consultation on the plans before lodging an official planning application with East Dunbartonshire Council by the end of 2012.
