LIMBER ladies have helped a Bishopbriggs gym beat its own record of raising cash for breast cancer awareness this year.
Curves organised a series of fundraising events during Breast Cancer Awareness Month – generating £1,260 in donations and more than 670 bras for recycling.
Every kilo is worth £1 to Breast Cancer Campaign, to be added to the total.
Curves offered free membership for any lady who donated to the campaign during October.
Curvettes took part in many fun fundraising events, including: Silver Coin Spiral; Tasty Tuesdays with cancer-preventing foods; Wacky Wednesday when Curvettes wore their bras on top of their t-shirts; guess how many sweets in the jar; a strawberry tea party; challenge your coach day; Mambo Monday latin salsa dancing; and popcorn pyjama party.
One of the highlights was a 5k Bra Walk around Bishopbriggs, Bishopbriggs Cross and Woodhill. Ladies had kids in buggies, a boombox, money cans and even their dogs wore pink tutus!
The popular gym also organised: an NHS information day; Disco Fever Friday; Buddy Workout Day; Bring a Man to Curves Day; ZumbAtomic for the Kids; Wear it Pink Day; Curves Hallowe’en Party; sponsored silence; and a fantastic Ladies Night In with funds raised in a raffle.
Kirsty MacArthur, owner/manager of Curves in Bishopbriggs, said: “We have had an amazing month in Curves Bishopbriggs and we would like to say a massive thank-you to our generous Curvettes!
“Curves is an equipment-based programme, but we also have Zumba classes and Powerhoop sessions so it’s really good fun to learn to keep fit and stay healthy.”
