A GROUP of thugs have been condemned after hurling a brick at a car.
The driver had a lucky escape when youths smashed the windscreen.
Young thugs threw a brick at the Fiat Punto as it headed towards traffic lights on Lochend Road, in Gartcosh.
Amazingly the driver was not injured in the terrifying ordeal.
Following the attack the thugs ran off towards Greenhill Avenue.
Inspector Stephen Hazlett said: “Throwing objects at moving vehicles could have catastrophic consequences.
“Fortunately, in this instance, the driver escaped uninjured.
“We would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact Cumbernauld Police on 01236 503 900 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
Police are looking for three youths aged around 14-15 in connection with the incident.
It took place on Sunday, August 14, at 4.25pm.
One was wearing a dark hooded top and dark jogging bottoms. Another was wearing a black t-shirt and dark jogging bottoms, and the third was in dark clothing.
