Celebrating 60 years of marital bliss
IT WAS a diamond celebration for Netherlee couple Jean and Alex Steel recently as the family gathered to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.
The Steels have four children, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, with the family spread as far as Boston, Singapore and Dublin — but everyone came together to celebrate the occasion at Clark & Sons in Clarkston.
Daughter Lesley Bell told The Extra: “Mum and dad were thrilled to receive a card from the Queen on their special day.
“Granddaughter Rebecca baked a cake and mum shared it with the neighbours at Strathtay Shelter Complex, which everyone enjoyed.
“A very busy and enjoyable time was had by all.”
