THE nights are going to be getting brighter in North Glasgow thanks to a fabulous funding boost from the Big Lottery.

Bright Night International has been awarded £2,000 to help deliver a new activity bringing together circus acrobatics and parkour (free running) called acro-parkour.

‘The Playground’ project will involve transporting a purpose-built performance and teaching structure into a public space in a community in North Glasgow.

Organisers will also provide a free performance followed by open workshops.

The grant will fund the cost of transport for the structure, rigging crew for the structure, workshop leaders, marketing/evaluation and documentation.

The boost is part of a wide range of grants through the Commonwealth Games Legacy Fund, 2014 Communities.

Big Lottery Fund Scotland committee chair, Alison Magee, said: “No matter what age you are, it’s never too late to join in through sport and physical activity.”
