BISHOPBRIGGS Community Council has been given £2,150 by East Dunbartonshire Council to help deserving groups in the area.

The community council has until March to allocate the cash and is looking for local groups to apply for funding.

A spokesperson for the community council said: “Like other community councils we have been allocated money to distribute to worthwhile causes in the community.

“If anyone wants to come forward with ideas and apply for funding we’d be happy to hear from them.”

The deadline for applications is December 31, 2011.

Applicants should specify how much they are looking for, how they intend to spend the money, if they can secure match funding and why they deserve the cash.

Candidates shortlisted for funding will then be invited to present their proposals to the community council.

To apply for funding you can e-mail Bishopbriggs Community Council secretary Tom Dibble at tom.dibble@ntlworld.com.
