RESIDENTS have been told to watch out for new wave of bogus callers by police.
The latest scam involves conmen falsely claiming to be sent by the householder’s GP.
An 86-year-old man was targeted by a bogus caller at his home in Gleneagles Gardens, Bishopbriggs, last week.
He was told that his GP had asked the salesman to visit with an offer for a special medical bed which had been reduced from £4,000 to £400.
Meanwhile, in recent weeks a number of residents in Kirkinitilloch and Bishopbriggs have received letters claiming to be from a ‘Euromillions Lottery’ which says that a prize of £400,000 is waiting to be collected.
