FIND out more about plans for a new £6million primary school in Kirkintilloch at an event next week.

A new Lairdsland Primary is set to be built next to the Forth and Clyde Canal at Southbank Marina.

East Dunbartonshire Council is considering submitting a full planning application for the development.

Plans and information will be displayed at a second public consultation event in the school on Tuesday, April 16, between 3.30pm and 5.30pm, and between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

However, for those who may not be able to attend, the information, including comments forms will be made available at the Kirkintilloch Hub at William Patrick Library.

It’s estimated the new school could be built by next year. It will replace the current building, which opened in 1875.
