Police Scotland is seeking the assistance of the public in an effort to locate a woman missing from her home since Saturday, October 24.

Lorraine Kirkwood (37) was last seen around 3.30pm in the Cowgate area of Kirkintilloch. She left work to make her way home, however she failed to return and her family is now growing increasingly concerned for her safety and wellbeing.

Lorraine is described as: white, around 5 foot 4 inches in height, of slim build with light brown, collar-length hair. She was wearing a purple dress, a gold/tan coloured, knee-length Puffa jacket, black tights and black shoes. She was carrying a purple handbag.

Lorraine likes routine and very rarely does she deviate from it. Family members have said it is extremely out of character for her to go missing and not contact them and concern is mounting.

Officers have been reviewing CCTV images in the area to identify and locate Lorraine but attempts to trace her have so far proved unsuccessful.

Sergeant Graeme Burn said: “Lorraine’s family just want her home safe and well. We have received information on possible sightings of Lorraine and officers are in the process of checking those sightings out. However until we have traced Lorraine, I am appealing to members of the public to look out for her. If you have any information about Lorraine or her whereabouts then please do get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Kirkintilloch police office on the non-emergency number, 101.
