Cycle festival was a wheely brilliant day for all the family.

A BIKE event which organisers claim is the world’s first fair trade cycle festival has been hailed a success.

This year’s EDs Cycle Festival, which was held on Sunday, benefited from fantastic weather which got the crowds out in their hundreds.

Organiser Mark Kiehlmann said: “The EDs Cycle Co-op coaches and volunteers did a fantastic job of helping everyone have a fantastic day on their bikes. The musical sound track to the day by Melrose Music’s tutors and performers was a wonderful addition appreciated by all.

“We are also grateful to our sponsors Digby Brown Solicitors, Endura, Buff Headgear, and Cycling Scotland ensured that all 87 race winners received medals, Buff headgear and water bottles.
