The new Lairdsland Primary School will officially open on the first day of the new term after next year’s Easter break.
The date was agreed at a meeting of East Dunbartonshire Council last week as part of a progress report covering all schools under the Council’s Primary School Improvement Programme (PSIP).
Detailed planning is under way to support staff, pupils and parents through the move to the new £7.7 million state-of-the-art building.
Council Leader Rhondda Geekie said: “This is exciting news for everyone involved in the first of our new schools.
“It promises to deliver a fantastic new learning environment for our young people.
“It’s ideal the pupils and staff will be able to settle into their new school ahead of the summer break and start enjoying the benefits as soon as possible.”
A council spokesperson added: “The Lairdsland design is being used a reference for the other new build schools in the programme.”
