Outdoor enthusiasts are being urged to visit the Campsie Fells.

A new information leaflet, including a detailed map, has been produced to attract more people to the area famed for its spectacular scenery.

It is aimed at promoting the Campsies as a day trip destination to a wider audience than ever before.

Launching the leaflet, Councillor John Dempsey, vice-convener of East Dunbartonshire’s development and infrastructure committee, said: “If like me you live locally then you will already appreciate the vast beauty of the Campsie Fells, but this is our opportunity to take that message further afield to day trippers with time on their hands and a love of nature and the great outdoors.

“I’d like to encourage anyone who’s never considered the Campsie Fells before to look again at everything the area has to offer. It really is Scotland at its finest.”

The leaflet has been produced by the Campsie Fells Steering Group and part-funded through the Kelvin Valley LEADER programme.
