Dig in and really grow for it at allotments

North Glasgow Community Food Initiative is looking for new budding gardeners from the Springburn area to muck in and have some fun growing veg.

No experience is required to take part.

NGCFI project manager Greig Sandilands said: “With rising food prices, and family budgets becoming ever more tighter there has never been a greater need for more of us to learn how to grow our own food.

“We were delighted to receive funding recently from the Big Lottery Fund 2014 Communities. This has enabled us to re-open our plots at the Springburn Road allotment after several weeks without the funding and gardening.

“Gardening is also very sociable and a little physical activity is also good for us all.”

NGCFI is also keen to hear from experienced gardeners willing to volunteer and share their skills with others.
