KIND-hearted families in East Dunbartonshire are being urged to recycle and re-gift unwanted Christmas presents.

Barnardo’s Scotland is appealing for unwanted gifts from the festive season to be donated to their shop in Kirkintilloch so they can be sold to raise vital funds.

Magdalene Davie, area business manager, said: “We’ve all received a gift at Christmas that’s not suitable, such as the wrong size clothing or two of the same item – by donating any unwanted Christmas presents to our shops you will not only be re-gifting, but also helping Scotland’s most disadvantaged children.

“Every year Barnardo’s Scotland works to turn around the lives of 10,000 children, young people and their families.”

Sought-after items include digital photo-frames, gadgets, toiletries and cosmetics, and DVDs and CDs – all of which can be donated.
